am i understanding this correctly that the more devices you charge the less amp u get since if i multiple 2.1a x 6 it will be over 10a? Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: No, three of the ports are 2.1 A and three ports are 1 A which totals 10.2 A. I have charged three iPads and three iPhones at the same time and can verify that the charger is able to provide full current at each port. I actually measured it using an ammeter and some modified cables that I built. I was curious also.

Nowhere on the page or specs is the input voltage shown. does it support 120 -240 vac for european operation? Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: I am in the USA so I know it works on the 120 volts. On the back of the Ravpower it lists 6 ports USB wall charger model RP-UC10 then underneath that input: AC 100-240V/1.3A max Output 1: DC 5V/2.4A max Output 2: DC 5V/2.4A max Output 3: DC 5V/2.4A max Output 4: DC 5V/1.0A max Output 5: DC 5V/1.0A max Output 6: DC 5V/1.0A max I hope this helps. My husband does some electrical work but is not licensed. He said he thinks it would work but you would need an adapter to make it fit into 240 volt outlets because their outlets are not shaped like ours.

it recomends purchasing their 5 pak micro usb cables for the fastest charging time. Does anybody know if these cables really do charge faster? Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: I use my own USB cables and it works fabulously. I see no reason why any other USB cable would charge faster.

Ismart charging question: In case accidently i plug my iphone to 2.4A ports and ipad to 1.0A ports, will it damage the unit (iphone/ipad) ? Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: The device to be charged communicates with the charger over USB, and the charger announces how many amps are available. The device pulls what it needs, up to the limit set by the charger. The voltage stays the same. There is no harm in plugging an iPhone into the 2.4 A port, or an iPad into a 1.0A port. The only difference you will notice is that if you plug an iPad (which wants 2.1 or 2.4 A) into the 1.0 A port, it will charge slowly (about half normal speed). For best results, plug it into the correct port. No USB-compliant device will be harmed. :-)

What does, "only use oem cables and ravpower cables", mean? am i going to buy that also...can't i use the one that comes with the phone? ugh! Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: It means you need to use the charging cable that originally came with your device when it came from the Original Equipment Manufacturer. You can also use an appropriate charging cable sold by the manufacturer of your device, or you can get the appropriate charging cable from RavPower. If you're using an Apple device, only use a charging cable from Apple or from RavPower. If you're using an Android device, only use the charging cable that originally came with your device or get the appropriate cable from RavPower. The same applies to all other devices and brands such as digital cameras, battery packs, wireless headphones, and more. This is important to ensure your devices charge efficiently and safely. If one of your charging cables or devices begins burning due to an improper cable, you will be putting all other devices and items nearby at risk of damage or failure.

I don't understand all the different ports, is it picky about what you plug in? I just want to charge various RC helicopters and some mobile devices Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: There are varying amps coming out of different ports. Some devices are designed for only low amps while others can handle higher. You would have to check your devices. The ports are all 5 volts, which is common, but amps are 3 with 2.4 and 3 with 1. Again check the devices you want to plug in.

Will this charge a kindle? Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: Yes, while I no longer use a kindle device I do charge my IPAD, IPhone, digital camera and a battery backup device all simultaneously. This charger has plenty of capacity and I am often using my IPAD while it is charging with no problems whatsoever!
