FAQ

** Amazon Customer Questions & Answers **
The questions and answers below were created by Amazon customers, who are not affiliated or in any way officially connected with RAVPower. Please follow their advice at your own discretion.
1.how long is the warranty?
A: lifetime warranty.
2.What about ground loop noise? Anyone tried to listen music through aux while charging device?
A: No humming sound. I've listened to music and talked on phone with no issues. Hope this helps! .
3.Can you leave the charger always plugged in with nothing connected? Is there a risk to the car or device?
A: Yes you can leave it plugged in all the time. When the phone isn't connected, it's smart enough to realize it's not in use. When you connect your phone a blue light on the charger indicates current is going to the phone. So there is no risk to the car or device. .
4.Would it make a difference if I get the 12 or the 24 for my iPhone 6
A: Each USB port supplies 2.4 amps. If you only need or want to charge one device get the one port model. .
5.Are both ports the same? If not which is the 4.8 port when used by itself?
A: It's 2.4 for each port. I don't think you will get 4.8 out of any port on any car charger..
6.Manual say if it works w a 28v alternator? The side is stamped 12v/24V. What's manual say?
A: The solid state electronics in this adapter can deal with either 12-14V or 24-28V. The system is rated at 12V or 24V (cars are almost always 12V), but alternators generate a higher voltage in order to recharge the battery as well as run the electrical system. 24V systems are found in buses, boats, trucks, airplanes, etc... .
7.Is it a good charger for Nintendo 3DS?
A: Yes.. that is what my son uses it for .
8.My car has 3, 12v charging stations. Can I still buy the 24v charger? I know nothing about this kind of stuff.
A: I've used 24v charging devices in 12v charging station with no real issues, however you may notice your device charging at a slower rate. .
9.Does this work for the Samsung Galaxy S5?
A: yep! sure does. .
10.Does this work on older cellphones? My old flip phone starts to charge then stops immediately, and same for my Sandisk mp3 player.
A: If your old flip phone can charge via USB, then yes- this should work. .
11.If this is left in the car plugged in (with or without USB cords attached), will it continue to run down the battery when the ignition is off? Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: I have had on in my Jeep for the past year with two cables in it with no problems with the battery.
12.how do you detach this if it's flush? My Audi continues to supply power to the outlet when ignition is turned off. Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: You can still pull it out..
13.How hot does this get when you plug a couple tablets in? Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: It hasn't gotten hot at all while I've been using it, and I've charged 2 Samsung Galaxy S8+'s at the same time, but not 2 tablets. I imagine you would have the same result with tablets..
14.Does this interfere with the AM radio? Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: No it does not at least not on it's own. If there is a whine that goes up and down with your revs, then the problem is in your car's wiring. It is a ground loop that is causing the whine. That is why the person with the Malibu experienced the problem but not the Elantra. Now, I'm not suggesting that you buy a different car. You don't say how you're connected what device to the car. If you have Bluetooth connection, it should be ok. If you are connected to an auxiliary input then there are ground loop noise filters. .
15.Do the LED lights stay on if no devices are plugged into it? Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: Yes.
16.Will this quick charge Nexus 6 (not 6p)? Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: no this car charger doesn't support quick charge function.
17.Does this cause RF interference? Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: I would say no it doesn't. I have my iPhone charging and hear nothing out of the ordinary..
18.Does it support samsung adaptive charge for the samsung note4? i want a car charger that allows me to enable fast charging. Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: no this car charger doesn't support quick charge function.
19.Are the ports lit? Some pics show blue lit ports and most don't. Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: NO, the ports are not lit - at least not on the unit I received. And, frankly, I'm glad they aren't. That would just be an unnecessary annoying distraction..
20.What is the input voltage rating? 12-24V? Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: 12v. Standard automotive electrical supply..
