When trying to charge my MacBook using the USB-C port on the battery, it immediately begins to recharge itself.. How do I prevent this? Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: Long hold the power button for 5 seconds to reverse the charging. Since the USB-C port can be used as input to charge the battery or used as output to charge other USB-C devices, sometimes you'll have to reverse the charge.

Does this support QC 3.0? Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: I believe that is a different charging protocol actually. I use this for my Google Pixel XL which actually uses Power Delivery (PD) and not Quick Charge 3.0 as its quick charge method. Here's a good article about it from a discussion forum. https://forums.androidcentral.com/google-pixel-accessories/736282-pixel-quick-charge-3-0-usb-c-pd.html

I need to know can I use my 87W type c Apple charger to charge this at the faster rate or is it too powerful???? Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: I did this the other day. The cool thing about USBPD used in higher wattage chargers negotiates a voltage/current pair for the device being charged. In this case, it negotiates higher power with the 87w Apple charger. The RAVPower charges very quickly, beating microusb by hours.

Will this portable battery charge the Nintendo Switch without any problems? Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: I did hear that Switch is charged by 5V3A current which this battery pack supports. So it will be no doubt a great accessory to Switch.

Does this fast charge the s8/s8+? Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: I believe the Galaxys use quick charge. This is using PD.

can it be charged trough both inputs at the same time and will that make a difference in charge time? Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: Yes, it will speed up the charging process. Just remember you need to use 2A USB chargers(or a 1.5A USB-C charger)

Does it support pass through charging? (Charging a device while being charged) ? Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: Yes, just bear in mind that since this is obviously for USB-C devices, the microUSB input will not be able to keep up due to its lower power rating. While charging via Type C, it will charge two devices on its dual USB-A ports.

The picture appears to contain a usb type-c cable. however, there is no usb cable in my box. can i get it? Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: It now states "1 x RAVPower Type-C to C Cable" in the description, and the unit I just received (May 2017) included a USB C cable.

How do you actually charge this thing? It comes with a dongle but after daisy chaining and plugging it in I see no indicator its charging Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: You charge the unit using either the Micro USB port (labeled Input) or the USB C port (Labeled Type C). To use the included wall plug you have to have a USB C to USB C cable, this is not included with the device. To charge with the Micro USB Port simply use any standard charger with a micro USB cable. For more information go the Ravpower website Ravpower.com and do a search for your model, model should be on the backside of the device. For this one I think its RP-PB058.

Maybe this is a stupid question but what happens if I try to charge something that uses 12v 2a? will that work? Customers are chatting about this View conversation
A: I'm not 100% sure, but I believe PD (Power Delivery) has a protocol layer to it, so unless the chip in your device is able to 'communicate' that it requires 12v, I don't believe it will receive it. I think it will fallback to providing 5v to be 'safe'.
